“Homestead”
6” x 9”
Original Pastel Painting by Colorado Artist Margretta S. Perry
SOLD
This little
painting is an amalgamation of several photos. The Colorado skies are
magnificent, but I’m not always in the right place at the right time. The farm
picture was taken from a distance as we were traveling along the freeway—no place
to slip off the road for a photo, so it was taken as we moved—always interesting
to see exactly what you’ve captured! The field was fallow, so I had to remember
what it might have looked like after planting.
I used
Wallis sanded paper as the ground with a hot pink and alcohol wash underneath,
A mix of soft pastels completed the picture.
