These are spectacular sandstone cliffs outside of Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska. This area is a protected park and a lovely stop while going through western Nebraska. The Oregon Trails Days celebration each July in Gering is filled with activities: art show and sale, quilt exhibit and sales, old-time parade, great food, and lots of other activities for the whole family.

“Desert Candle” 5” x 7” Original Pastel Painting by Colorado Artist, Margretta Smylie Perry
“Desert Candle”

This little painting would look lovely in a small space that needs a pick-me-up! It is a desert landscape with an aloe vera flower stalk in the foreground and the ocean in the background. It reminds me of our annual trips to Cabo San Lucas!

Mystic River is a place directly from my imagination. This is a place that
I thought would be nice to visit. I wanted a glowing sunset picture with lots of
trees, mountains in the background, water and rocks in the foreground—all the
things I love. I hope you like it as much as I do.
