This little painting is a rendition of the Sawhill Pond area outside of Boulder, CO looking out toward the Flatirons. I used Wallis sanded paper as the ground and a mix of soft pastels.

These children were amazing! They were playing the marimba so well, I could hardly believe they were such young children. I would guess about 7 & 8 years old perhaps…and standing on a bench so they could reach. The sun and shade was lovely and a nice backdrop for the musicians. This photo was taken in Cabo San Lucas a couple of years ago.
